CODACA CPAS2222 Series High Current Power Inductors An Ideal Choice for High-Frequency, High-Efficiency Power Supply Design

2026-03-23

In industrial power supplies, renewable energy systems, and server power applications, the continuous increase in power density and efficiency requirements has placed stricter demands on inductor components. Particularly in scenarios involving high switching frequencies, high operating currents, and elevated operating temperatures, power systems require superior performance from power inductors.

CODACA has newly launched the CPAS2222 Series super high current power inductors, featuring innovations in core materials and inductor manufacturing processes. With outstanding performance, this series stands out as an ideal solution for high-frequency, high-efficiency power supply design.

CODACA CPAS2222 Series High Current Power Inductors

1- Technological Upgrade Achieves Performance Breakthrough

The CODACA CPAS2222 is an upgraded version of the high-current power inductor CPAG2222. It features a low-loss magnetic core and flat wire winding design, delivering excellent DC bias performance and the ability to withstand high peak currents without saturation. The inductance value and DC bias characteristics are minimally affected by temperature, enabling continuous operation at temperatures up to +155°C.

With its flat wire winding structure, the inductor achieves extremely low DC resistance (DCR), supporting high power output with low temperature rise. The inductance range is 1.90–10.00 μH, saturation current ranges from 31.00–76.00 A, and temperature rise current ranges from 32.00–57.00A.

Compared with the previous-generation CPAG series, the CPAS2222 series adopts CODACA’s newly developed wide-frequency, wide-temperature core material. It maintains stable electrical performance under high-frequency and wide-temperature conditions, exhibits low inductance loss in high-frequency applications, and fully meets the design requirements of modern high-frequency switching power supplies.

2- Outstanding Performance Builds Core Advantages

The CPAS2222 series high current power inductors offer the following key advantages and highlights:

2.1 Strong Anti-Saturation Capability:

The CPAS2222 series features excellent DC bias characteristics and strong resistance to saturation. It can easily withstand instantaneous high peak current surges, ensuring stable system operation under dynamic load conditions.

2.2 Low Loss at High Frequency:

Utilizing CODACA’s independently developed high-frequency, low-loss magnetic core material, the series delivers minimal core loss in high-frequency applications. Core loss is particularly optimized within the 200 kHz–400 kHz frequency range, where it reaches its lowest level.

Comparison of Core Loss at 500 kHz Between the CPAS2222 Series and Inductors of the Same Package Size

Figure 1 Comparison of Core Loss at 500 kHz Between the CPAS2222 Series and Inductors of the Same Package Size

At a switching frequency of 500 kHz, core loss testing was conducted on the CPAS2222 series inductors and conventional inductors of the same package size, with a focus on performance under different temperature conditions (as shown in Figure 1).

The test data indicate that both inductors exhibit similar loss curve trends across varying temperatures, demonstrating excellent thermal stability. However, the CPAS2222 series shows significantly superior core loss performance, with approximately 40% lower loss compared to conventional inductors of the same package size. This substantial advantage makes the CPAS2222 series an ideal choice for high-frequency, high-efficiency power supply designs.

2.3 Efficient power loss control:

The inductor adopts flat wire winding technology, significantly reducing DC resistance (DCR), thereby minimizing copper loss and improving overall efficiency.

2.4 Excellent temperature stability:

Inductance value and DC bias characteristics are minimally affected by temperature, maintaining consistent performance over a wide operating range of -55°C to +155°C, ensuring system reliability under all operating conditions.

2.5 Outstanding electromagnetic interference resistance:

With a magnetic shielding structure design, the inductor offers strong EMI suppression capability and supports high-density layouts without affecting nearby sensitive circuits.
